A battle on foot, with lots of tanks

Arlunis was on the ground, his feet on the fresh grass of an open plain. Behind him were several wraith tanks, slowly following him. Also accompaning him were around three-dozen minors, majors, and Spec-ops, including a Zealot as a bodyguard and accomplice. Several phantoms were dropping down to deploy even more infantry, as well as ghost vehicles and a banshee. Arlunis looked around and saw a few pelicans in the air, descending out of sight to deploy troops. Arlunis looked back, and said to his men "This is it, my brothers! We shall attack them with everything we have at our disposal!" Turning back, Arlunis heard the -vrooms- of warthogs speeding towards him and his troops. "Fire plasma mortars!" yelled Arlunis, as the Wraith tanks fired out several blasts at the enemies.

The enemy Warthogs veered out of the blasts, with the marines maned at the turrets firing at some minor and major sangheili infantry. Arlunis switched out a Fuel Rod Gun and fired multiple times at the Warthogs, being able to flip one over. "Take the ghosts, speed after the surviving enemies!" Arlunis said to the minor sangheilis, as they hopped in the small vehicles and rushed after them. The sangheili troops were ducking and firing their weapons at the marines, and vice versa. Plasma and bullets rang out through the air as infantry fell on both sides. Arlunis looked at his zealot accomplice and said to him "Take the banshee, strike from the air!" The zealot looked at him and replied "Yes, my lead" and took the vehicle, flying skyward at the enemy marines.

Arlunis looked at the raging battlefeild, and cried out "Their falling back! Take after them and force a retreat to their hearts!"

Staring at all of the chaos, Ca'Naamu waits for orders, Just staring, Taking several shots in the leg, but still just staring, With eyes wide open, he looks down and realizes He's bleeding, he stares at his crippled leg in complete shock, It begins pulsing a rather extended amount of pain, He just.. stares, eyes wide open at his leg, Never before had he felt so much.. Pain. Pain. It was rather shocking, the blood was pooling, Ignoring the blood, Ca'Naamu just stares at it, in complete shock of what a turret can cause.

Arlunis looked at a wounded soldier, and looked down at his gunshots. "You must get up, and carry on with the fight! We must all fight for a win today!" Suddenly, overhead, several falcons came out from behind a few trees, all with men at the turrets. Firing down at his troops, Arlunis then said "Take cover! Wraith pilots, take them out, quickly!"

Staring at his leader, Ca'Naamu nods, Takes one last look at his leg, and begins firing his Dual Needlers at some marines, managing to hit a few in the head, Flinching from a bullet flies past, Ca'Naamu continues firing and manages to take out a turret operator, As a revenge for his leg, Reloading, he hits a Scorpion tread several times, breaking it and causing the Scorpion to go immobile, Ca'Naamu throws a Plasma Grenade and takes out a Warthog's front passengers, then he shoots the turret operator with his Dual Needlers, then takes cover as directed.

Taking out his fuel rod, Arlunis bombards a scorpion from long range, blinding it's operator. Getting in close, Arlunis takes out his enrgy sword, pulls off the cockpit, and stabs the driver. Marines nearby repeatedly shoot at him, but he dives behnd the scorpions treads. Bringing out his fuel rod again, Arlunis jumps out and fires a few times at the marines, blowing them up in the air as they scream on the way down. Throwing a plasma grenade, Arlunis aims for the sergeant of a small group of more marines, and sticks him with it. He looks down at the armor on his chest, and frantically tries to get it off. However, too late, it detonates and blows him up. In the explosive wave of dust, Arlunis rushes back to his Wraith tanks to regroup.

Moving up to take out a Scorpion, Ca'Naamu runs over to it, about 2/3rd of the way there, he falls down and realizes his leg is still crippled, how embarrassing, He attempts to crawl back, but is blocked by a Marine, who shoots his hands, making them bleed and making Ca'Naamu drop his Dual Needlers, Realizing he's been trapped, Ca'Naamu just closes his eyes, and prays for the best. Yet he opens his eyes from the pain as a Marine gets on top of him for a height advantage, Ca'Naamu screams in utter pain and terror, hitting the Marine with his bleeding hand, he begins to crawl away, but gets shot in the back. Ca'Naamu stares at the blood, He had never bled so much, yet seemingly, he was still alive.

Arlunis saw one of his men in a dire situation, and ordered 2 of his Spec-Ops Sangheili to help him out. Seeing a Warthog approaching with a man at the turret and an armed passeneger, Arlunis stopped the Hog driver from running over Ca'Naamu, blasting it sideways with his trusty Fuel rod. The passneger had been killed in the multiple blasts, but the gunner and driver got out of their seats, groaning in agony. Arlunis quickly got behind one of the marines and stabbed him in the back, and through the chest with his Energy blade. Tossing the lifeless body aside, he melee'd the other marine in the face, knocking him out. Just before Arlunis stabbed him in the gut with his energy sword, he turned around upon hearing screams from some more marines, not too far behind him. The Sec-Ops Snagheili had saved Ca'Naamu and proceeded to help him up, despite his wounds.

Ca'Naamu, embarrassed that he had done a stupid thing, let the Spec Op Elites help him up, but in doing so, It caused much, much more pain, barely holding back the instinct to scream from the pain, Ca'Naamu tries to grab a needler, but screams as the gun touches his hand wound, he drops it. Thinking to himself, Ca'Naamu realized this was not the best time to be wearing Light Stealth Armor. He realizes he won't be much help now that he can't wield anything. Limping back to the cover, he takes cover and stares at his several open wounds, He won't live much longer if he keeps bleeding like this, at a desperate attempt to mix some dirt with a small piece of cloth to make a suitable patch, but in that attempt, he just gets his wounds dirtier, causing more pain, Ca'Naamu can barely stand it. He bangs his head on the cover, and places the cloth over his hand and ties it, why didn't he think of this before? He grabs a plasma pistol and begins firing at some Marines.

Arlunis looked overhead and saw phantoms dropping off a large squad of Sangheili rangers, who came right into the fight. The battle was sure win for the Covenant.

The pain from the wounds got to Ca'Naamu, his vision blurred up and he accidentally shot a Grunt. He rubbed his eyes with his arms, looked at the Grunt, he realized what he'd done. He would surly be shunned. Frozen from shock, he thought of the punishments.. the terror of them... He wouldn't be able to handle any of them. Ca'Naamu realized his name would be brought to shame... All of this terror made him scream quietly, then faint.

Zuka surveyed the battlefield from his phantom drop ship. His eyes were not fixed on the cowardly humans retreating nor were they fixed on the triumphant covenant screaming their battle cries. No Zuka's eyes were fixed on a certain sangheili who just happened to shoot an unggoy then collapse. Zuka's eyes homed in on the warrior's wounds and he quickly deduced that the soldier was in shock from his wounds. Zuka knew the dishonor that the warrior would face if word ever got out to his sangheili comrades. Taking pity on the poor sangheili, he leaped out of the drop ship, as always accompanied by his two faithful zealot companions. Dissipating the impact of the ten foot jump with a roll, Zuka got to his feet and oriented himself. The sangheili who had just shot a grunt was three feet in front of him. Taking the sangheili's limp body into his arms, Zuka scanned over his identification. Whispering to himself Zuka spoke, "Ca'Namuu your name shall not come to shame at my hands. Today I will turn you into a true warrior."

Arlunis looked over to Zuka, and said "Take him to the transport pod, he needs serious help with those injuries. We'll carry on the fight down here, do not worry." Arlunis quickly felt the exploding impact of a rocket launcher behind him, then threw a plasma grenade towards where the shot came from. Taking cover, Arlunis said to Zuka "We need to clear this area!"

Acknowledging Arlunis's orders, Zuka gently placed the limp Ca'Namuu into a transport pod . Hoping, the unconscious warrior wouldn't come to any harm, he took up a position by Arlunis's side. Zuka's blood rushed with the joy of combat; standing beside his fellow sangheili, fighting and dying, being on the battlefield, for him that was what home truly was. A high velocity round caught Zuka in the shoulder, snapping him out of his reverie and bringing him back to the present. The round could not penetrate his thick Field Marshall's shields but it had sufficient force to spin him around. Savoring the bloodshed that would come, Zuka sighted down his beam rifle. There was no doubt that a sniper had shot at him judging by the impact and the vapor trail that accompanied the bullet. Shifting his position so that more of his body was shielded by a crude human barrier, Zuka scanned the open plain for his attacker. One of the human's tanks fired, the shell impacting just a few feet to his left but Zuka ignored it. He would let Arlunis deal with the human vehicles after all, Arlunis did have a fuel rod gun. Spotting a glint out of the corner of his eye, Zuka ducked in time as another round whizzed through the space that his head had once occupied. Finally able to pinpoint his adversary's position, Zuka sighted down his scope. Realizing, his imminent death, the human seemed to flinch but it was too late. Zuka's well placed shot tore through his head. With the immediate threat of the sniper eliminated, Zuka set his sights on new targets. Mainly the operators of the tank turrets and passengers on the humans' four-wheeled vehicles. His efforts made it easier for Arlunis to dispatch their foes but also depleted his beam rifle. Dropping the useless weapon on the ground, Zuka prepared for some boarding action.

Arlunis lunged forward with his energy sword, and struck another marine right through the chest. Pulling the lifeless body off his weapon, he then saw mongoose driver, along with a passenger holding a DMR, drove quickly past. Before Arlunis could destroy them, they got out of range. Looking back at the enemy infantry ahead, he noticed a grenade fly right down beside him. In a hurry out of suprise, Arlunis quickly rolled out of the way. Upsetted with the explosive nearly killing him, Arlunis pulled out his fuel rod and blasted away at the location of several marines.

Flying over, Ca'Naamu's Banshee shot a scorpion, before running out of fuel and crash landing, jumping out before it hit land, he ran to a suitable hiding place as Elites investigated the crash, before the Elites could notice he sprang off and got out of close enough range for recognizing, He viewed the battle from a distance, Hiding behind a concrete barrier.

While out in the fight, Arlunis noticed something. A large shadow overhead. It was massive. Looking up, Arlunis saw what it was: a covenant battlecruiser. The fleet commander must have sent it, Arlunis thought. As it hovered hundreds of feet above, many banshees and phantoms had came out. Heading right into the fight, incredible strike attacks devastated the UNSC forces. Scorpions, Falcons, Warthogs, whatever it was, it got blown up. "Such great results, my brothers! We must push on to the city beyond!" Arlunis rang out, as he continuoed to fire at the weakened and paniced soldiers.

OOC: The "city beyond" is another topic I might make soon. It doesn't have to be me who makes the topic, one of you guys should have the oppurtunity to make a popular topic. Perhaps Azure or Shadow?
